Goalie Pads

Goalie Pads I think are one of the more easier addons to make that is usually why you will see lots of people make them. As before you will need a template to get started with. Some template makers will put the goalie Gear into 3 parts catcher blocker & Pads. They will be pasted over the Game template & at 2x to make them standout & be clearer. First step is getting the files we need to work with out of the game & on the desktop where we can change them. NHLView will help you find the number of the goalie you wish to work with.

In this example I will change the pads on a goalie that's in the game but has not been updated. Watch out as some teams are effected by the default goalie templates in the game if your trying to edit one of these you will have to edit the default sets for those team & then link them to the player through the creation Zone. the teams effected by this are: Boston, Calgary, Colorado, Detroit, Montreal, New York Rangers and Toronto.

For this tutorial I will use Martin Brodeur from the Devils. I am going to change his gear but not to the real stuff just so you can see how it's done. NhlView tells me that his Cyber face number is 84 & this is the number i will use to locate the files I need to change his gear. Use BigGui & open & extra this following file to your desktop. (/NHL06/gamedata/goalies.viv)

Look for file goalies_pads_0084.fsh & the same for the rest of his gear goalies_helm_0084.fsh & goalies_stick_0084.fsh. These are the 3 files that holds his gear. Notice how after opening the *.viv file all there is are *.fsh files. This makes it easier because there are no *.big inside of the goalies.viv file.

Ok wow his mask is Pink I did this for a reason to show you what a in game shot will look like if you did not repack the files correctly or if you did not run BH import to fix the Headers. Ok you got the 3 files now click on Get a Template.
